Call Of Duty

The screen flickers in a kaleidoscope of colors,

A world of pixels, emotions, and triggers,

I wield a gun, a soldier in this digital space,

Engaged in battles that hurtle at a break-neck pace.

The game begins, the loading screen fades away,

A rush of adrenaline keeps heartache at bay,

But as I traverse through the corridors of war,

Wounds of my past threaten to surface once more.

Like a sniper camouflaged in shadows,

I hide the pain and the grief that follows,

But beneath the surface, a tempest rages,

A storm of heartache that grows with each passing age.

Like grenades exploding, my heart bursts,

Piercing and searing, a pain that hurts,

With each kill and each high I feel,

My heart aches more and the pain is real.

My gunshots echo through the virtual world,

Amid the chaos, my thoughts unfurled,

Images of a love now forever lost,

A surge of emotions that come at any cost.

As I dodge bullets and defeat enemies,

My heart still aches, like a wound that never mends,

The game is a refuge but my heart is a thorn,

Its wounds too real, too deep to be borne.

Now, like a soldier pinned down in battle,

My heart's in chains, my thoughts in shambles,

I fight the battle with each passing day,

But pain still grips me in its firm sway.

So I'll keep playing, hide behind the screen,

Finding solace in battles that I haven't yet seen,

Though the pain still lingers and heartache remains,

I'll keep fighting the battles until love comes to claim.
